MEMO: Stabile Student Center Closed Twice Next Week

Dear Students,

The Dean’s Office is holding two events next week that will restrict student access to the Stabile Student Center and Cafe.

The first, a donor appreciation event, will close the center from noon on Tuesday, October 21 to the morning of Wednesday, October 22. The second event will close the center from 3 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, to the following morning.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Brian McDonald alumni of the PT program and author of four books in 10 years, will discuss his new book, “Last Call at Elaine’s: A Journey From One Side Of The Bar To The Other” and what he learned at Columbia Journalism School.

BUILDING: Summer Room Availability

Summer Room Availability
* schedules/notices will be posted on each room:

-107a lab is open and available until further notice.

-Student Lounge is open.

-601A lab/602 and 501A lab will be in use in the late afternoons and evenings on Tuesdays and Thursdays for summer RW1 classes, but are otherwise available at other times.

-601B will be closed the week of Monday May 29th and then back open and available unless otherwise posted.

-601C will be open unless otherwise posted.

-the 607 suite will be closed for the duration of the summer due to construction.

-511A will be closed Tuesday 5-30 through Wednesday 6-7, then open during the day and used by Radio Documentary Class on Wednesday evenings.

-511B is closed now through Tuesday 6-6, then open during the day and in use by Radio Documentary class on Wednesday evenings.

-511C lab will be closed Tuesday 5-30 through Thursday 6-8 and then open for day use unless otherwise posted.

-709c will be used in the evenings for Electives and Seminar classes.

-801 will be used exclusively by News 21 for the duration of the summer.

*Please make note that the Columbia Publishing Course will be using all the available rooms in the building for their intensive workshops from June 30th to July 7th and July 17th to July 23rd except for those spaces dedicated to regular summer classes.
