Equipment and Fines:

All checked out equipment should be returned no later than May 15th.

Equipment fines must by paid by May 16th or you may have a hold placed
on your diploma. If you wish to dispute a fine, please email Craig at

Dear Students,

We are hearing from students and faculty that many classrooms, labs, and the student center are left littered with trash and generally filthy.

Although we have a great cleaning crew that comes in each weekday to clean, it is not possible to have every room cleaned between each class.

So, I’m asking for everyone to pitch in by depositing all cups, plates and wrappers into garbage cans or appropriate recycling bins.

Dear J2006:

In order to accommodate requests from some of you and some technical
issues we have been having, we are extending your access to the J-school’s
computers and building through 10 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 2006 (instead of 5 p.m. today).

Please make sure you take care of whatever you need to computer-wise
by then. All other parts of the Year-End Manual still apply.

Summer Room Availability
* schedules/notices will be posted on each room:

-107a lab is open and available until further notice.

-Student Lounge is open.

-601A lab/602 and 501A lab will be in use in the late afternoons and evenings on Tuesdays and Thursdays for summer RW1 classes, but are otherwise available at other times.

-601B will be closed the week of Monday May 29th and then back open and available unless otherwise posted.

-601C will be open unless otherwise posted.

-the 607 suite will be closed for the duration of the summer due to construction.

-511A will be closed Tuesday 5-30 through Wednesday 6-7, then open during the day and used by Radio Documentary Class on Wednesday evenings.

-511B is closed now through Tuesday 6-6, then open during the day and in use by Radio Documentary class on Wednesday evenings.

-511C lab will be closed Tuesday 5-30 through Thursday 6-8 and then open for day use unless otherwise posted.

-709c will be used in the evenings for Electives and Seminar classes.

-801 will be used exclusively by News 21 for the duration of the summer.

*Please make note that the Columbia Publishing Course will be using all the available rooms in the building for their intensive workshops from June 30th to July 7th and July 17th to July 23rd except for those spaces dedicated to regular summer classes.
